FDA Approves Atezolizumab Combination for Stage III dMMR Colon Cancer
The FDA approved atezolizumab with chemotherapy on October 8 for use after surgery in stage III colon cancer with deficient DNA mismatch repair (dMMR).
A New Option After Surgery
The intravenous treatment combines atezolizumab with fluoropyrimidine and oxaliplatin chemotherapy. The approval specifies adults and children aged two or older with stage III dMMR colon cancer; it does not cover every colon cancer diagnosis.

International Reviews Are Continuing
The announcement describes collaboration with regulators in Australia, Canada, Israel and Switzerland through Project Orbis. Their application reviews were ongoing at the time of the FDA announcement. US approval alone does not establish availability or coverage elsewhere.

Preparing a Specialist Review
If this development relates to an existing treatment plan, discuss it with your treating team. For a second opinion, ask which pathology, surgery and treatment records the reviewing oncologist requires.
