This is Fudan University’s Zhongshan Hospital in Shanghai, not a Guangzhou hospital with a similar English name. Fudan’s affiliated-hospital directory links to its official hospital website and describes its liver-cancer and cardiovascular institutes.

Fan Jia (樊嘉): liver tumour surgery and translational research

A May 2025 Fudan profile describes Fan Jia as a liver-tumour and liver-transplant specialist, a Chinese Academy of Sciences member and Zhongshan’s honorary president. It identifies long-term clinical and translational research work in liver tumours. The title is honorary president; older pages calling him the serving president should not be treated as current.

PubMed records Fan among the authors of a 2024 Cancer Cell review on precision treatment in advanced hepatocellular carcinoma, with a Zhongshan Liver Surgery and Transplantation affiliation. A review synthesizes research; it is not a new randomized trial or evidence that an individual patient will benefit from a particular treatment.

Ge Junbo (葛均波): cardiology with a documented academic role

Fudan’s May 2026 account identifies Ge Junbo as Zhongshan’s cardiology director and a Chinese Academy of Sciences member. It describes him leading the hospital’s cardiology teaching team and discussing developments in coronary intervention and valve procedures.

A July 2026 university report identifies a Zhongshan heart-failure project led by Sun Aijun, with Ge’s guidance and participation, as a recipient of a national science and technology award. The named project shows a wider cardiovascular research programme. It should not be reassigned to Ge as sole project leader or converted into an individual outcome guarantee.

How to use these profiles for an existing diagnosis

For liver cancer, distinguish the question about surgical assessment from one about medical oncology, imaging or pathology. For a cardiovascular review, explain whether the question concerns a documented diagnosis, a proposed intervention or interpretation of existing tests.
